The Fishing
Chautauqua Lake is located in western NY. The lake is just under 20 miles in length and is one of the best warm water fisheries in the state. It is well know for trophy muskellunge fishing. It also has fantastic fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, perch, and crappies. The lake is divided into 2 sections. The northern section has an average depth of around 25 feet and a maximum depth of 75 feet. The southern section is much shallower, with a maximum depth of 19 feet and on average is 10 feet or less. Mike's specialty is casting for muskies. Using live bait for muskies is an option in fall, although casting jerkbaits and big crankbaits works very well. Mike makes his own jerkbaits from hard maple. Trolling on Chautauqua Lake can provide awesome fishing for muskellunge and walleye when the conditions are right. A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is required. The balance is due at the boat. All Rods reels and fishing tackle is provided, however if you have a favorite rod you can bring your own. If the trip is cancelled due to bad weather your deposit will be refunded or your trip can be rescheduled for another day. | ![]() |
