Wow!! Look at this very nice Smallmouth bass caught out of the Chemung river around the Lowman Crossover area! The Chemung River has a very healthy bass population as well as walleyes, rock bass, tiger muskies, northern pike, perch, crappie, largemouth, catfish and lately even white bass ands some hybrid stripers which came up from down stream. The fishing is best in the deeper pools below a set of rapids and the best time of year is late September to late November for bass and walleyes although the spring fishing is good as well the fall brings on the bigger fish. Thanks to Jamie Rinker for this submission.
