Mike Lynch from Syracuse was fishing during August, 1999 when he caught this awesome Lake Ontario walleye. This fish tipped the scales at an amazing 13.8 pounds. Using the
snap weight system he was trolling a 3 inch shad-rap between 15 and 20 feet down over a 32 foot shoal between Point Peninsula and Stony Island on the eastern end of Lake Ontairo. The current state record walleye weighed in at 16 lb.7oz. It was caught John D. Fluder on a Mr. Twister jig from the Kinzua Reservoir 05/22/94. The next state record could possibly be from Lake Ontario.
