Black Lake Fishing Guides

Black Lake is located in upstate New York, approximately 2 hours north of Syracuse. Black Lake is of glacial origin it is over 20 miles long and is about 4 miles across at its widest point. It has a maxium depth of just over 40 feet but most of the lake is much shallower than that. The lake supports the following species of fish, northern pike, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, muskellunge, crappies, yellow perch, bluegills, rock bass, carp, catfish and brown bullheads Water flows into the lake from several sources, the largest being the Indian River. The lake drains into the Oswegatchie River and then into the Saint Lawrence River.

Randy Yager is a full time bass guide with over 25 years of experience fishing for smallmouth and largemouth bass. All fishing is done from his Nitro 911CDC with Mercury 225 Optimax. It can comfortably and safely accomodate three anglers plus the guide. At 20 feet long and 98 inches wide it is very stable and safe. All tackle is provided, along with water, Gatorade, ice, sandwiches and snacks.
