Dan Fleitman was fishing at Artist Lake on Long Island, May 31, 2003. It was a rainy day, but that did not stop Dan who was fishing for pickerel. He was using a Lunker City Fin-S and casting it into the lilly pads, then twitching it out into the open water.Thats when he caught this nice largemouth bass. The fish was quickly released after a brief photo. Many more were also caught and released that day.

Fishing Artist Lake on Long Island

Artist Lake is located in Western Suffolk County off Route 25 in Middle Island, N.Y. The lake is more like a large freshwater pond around 30 acres in size, on average the lake is around five feet deep with a maximum depth of around 10 feet. A trip to Artist Lake may result in an encounter with the following species of fish, largemouth bass, pickerel, perch, crappie, bluegill and bullhead. If you get tired of fishing the saltwater for blues and stripers give Artist Lake a try.

Kenny Debono and his step father launched thier canoe on Artist Lake to do a little fishing. It was a great day and the fish were really biting. Kenny was using a white fin-s and casting it into heavy cover and slowly retrieving it back when he caught this nice largemouth that had inhaled the bait
The date was June 7, 2003 when Kenny Debono and his step father launched thier canoe on Artist Lake to do a little fishing. It was a great day and the fish were really biting. Kenny was using a white fin-s and casting it into heavy cover and slowly retrieving it back when he caught this nice largemouth that had inhaled the bait. This fish was released after a quick photo.

Pictured here is Dan Fleitman who was casting a Jitter Bug to a to old dock, when this beauty attacked his lure. The fish were biting so good that we stoped counting how many were caught and released after 18 bass and 3 nice pickerel. I couldn't have asked for a better day or a better fishing buddy.
